I was beyond bummed when Domino Magazine, the home cousin to fashion's Lucky, closed early this year. It was my absolute favorite, and in my travels this year I've met women around the country who commiserate. (True fact: I bid--and won--on eBay for the back issues I didn't already own.) I've kept my eyes peeled for signs of the Domino team, hoping their new ventures will offer the same unique vision for home and entertaining.
When it comes to entertaining at home, etiquette has a lot do with putting your guests at ease and making them feel comfortable, welcome, and delighted. Having a home and pantry ready to do this makes it all the easier. It's fun. And that's what I always loved about Domino--it was fun, not stuffy. Real, not staged (well, not overly, any way). And the quiz has an echo of what I loved most about the magazine--the joy of feeling inspired. So have fun, be inspired, and let me know what your style is below.
was it ever proper to put the napkin onthe right by the knife and spoon? I think that was the way my school home-ec teacher taught us. Am I wrong or did something change/
