In the interest of full disclosure, today's feature, the DC Nearly Weds blog came to my attention when they recently highlighted my aunt Peggy Post's planner Emily Post's Wedding Planner on their site. That said, what a gem of a find! (Also in the interest of laying my cards on the table, I used to live in DC, though I don't think I know any of these ladies.) The blog has fresh ideas, such as reusable grocery bags for the OOT bags--or out of town (gift) bags for those of you not in the thick of wedding planning. It also shares real frustrations (not bridezilla ones) and gives advice from lessons learned. All in all it's worth a look for any nearly weds out there. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for this posting. As a newlywed, I definitely enjoyed reading the blog. Additionally, I'd like to commend Anna on the new project w/ Hyatt Place. Since I think more women need to know about this site/service, I blogged about it on my lifestyle and trend-spotting blog: www.OliveandFriends.net

The brides mother and stepmother planned a wedding/surprise engagement shower, how can it be a surprise when the bride had been planning on this shower for months--I didn't understand the wedding/ surprise engagement shower and unfortunately told the bride to be some people were coming- assuming they had responded to the RSVP, now my son isn't speaking to me because I ruined the surprise for his daughter(the bride)
Also 60 people are invited to this party but only 40 to the wedding--Can you enlighten me as to the proper etiquette?
Thank you Neva Marino(grand mother of the bride)
